Sanctuary
Many pathways lead to the sanctuary. For years I endured the walk through dense forest, with dying undergrowth beneath, and thick canopy above.
The sun has no place here. Do not linger, for the weary can be seduced by the dark and stillness. Yet in that darkness hope remains. The path forward may seem blocked. But focus your attention past the overlapping boughs and twigs—bright green and yellow trickle through.
The other trail allures with color and smell, leading to cobblestone steps and a bright field of green. Beware your thoughts: the intensity of the bouquet can entrance, halting your movement. Do not be deceived. At sunset the colors will fade, the smells dissipate.
Aware of both paths, either can be yours.
