Hera
Civilizations are intimately bound to myth. Sacred tales answer timeless questions and function as pedagogy, guiding us to the true nature of life. We contemplate the spiritual intelligence of myths, and can harness their power for our lives.
Myths are poetic. They teach us about who we are as individuals, as people, as a species. Through these stories you can appreciate the divinity of the earth, and figure of the Goddess.
Many religions contain powerful Goddess figures, or holy women who have fought and endured tremendous struggle in order to gain power and become part of history. Often their stories have been eroded over time. And so their teachings can be a warning, as much as a promise.
Artists can attempt to communicate the meanings of myths, and in artistic creation, keep myths alive and relevant to the present age. Without such re-creation, the symbols, metaphors, and vitality of myths will slip away.
